Watch Steve learn live
Give it time. A lot of early play is just working out how to move and how Minecraft works in the first place. Setbacks compound into learning, until it achieves perfect play, but it takes time and mistakes.
Steve never sees the screen, the world comes in as text, every action goes out as code, and it starts from nothing. Chat messages do not affect gameplay learning or capabilities.
Tonight’s world seed
Loading seed ticket…
Why nobody could choose this seed
Before each run, we publish a run ID and name a future randomness round that does not exist yet.
That round’s randomness is generated jointly by independent organisations, so no one, including us, can predict or pick it.
The seed is a fixed hash of the run ID and that round’s randomness, with no other input.
The Minecraft world is created live, only after the ticket has been published and the round has arrived.
This procedure depends on the ticket being publicly announced before its round. A timestamp in this file alone is not proof of prior publication.
Verify it yourself
This Python snippet reproduces the seed from the published run ID and round randomness. It does not verify the round’s BLS signature; check that separately against the beacon’s public key.
